All products on this website can either be accessed using the Products menu on the left hand side of every page or by using the Search box, which is also located on the left hand side of every page. By clicking on the bold header of a section (e.g. UK and Ireland Travel Guides, Other European Destinations) you can view further details of the subsections in that category, or you can access these subsections directly by clicking on the relevant name in the Products menu.
The Search box works by finding products with the keyword in the title. Therefore, products that are listed in drop down menus (such as the Ordnance Survey Landranger and Explorer maps) may not appear in the search results. Also, some titles may be listed by their native name rather than their English name (Venezia, Roma etc.).
Making A Purchase
To make a purchase, browse the store and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart using the Add to Cart button. The shopping basket is located in the top right hand corner of each page and can be accessed at any time.
After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept payment by all Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit/Delta/Connect, Switch/UK Maestro and Solo. We regret that we cannot accept payment by American Express. We are more than happy to take credit/debit card details offline - if you would like to pay in this way, please contact us using the details above.
When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
Making a Purchase of Ordnance Survey Sitemap products
When purchasing Siteplan or Siteplan Data products, please note that it is ESSENTIAL you provide us with a FULL ADDRESS, NOT JUST A POSTCODE. In both urban and rural areas, postcodes can cover multiple properties, making it very difficult to pinpoint an address exactly and delaying the creation of your Sitemap. Please also leave a daytime contact number when processing your order, so we can contact you if we still have difficulty finding your desired location.
If you are unsure of a postcode or address, please click here to use the Royal Mail's free address and postcode finder service. You are also more than welcome to visit our Marble Street, Leicester or Linkmel Close, Nottingham branch to view the Sitemap being created, or order via telephone if you feel this will enable you to identify the site better.
Shipping And Handling
Postage is charged per item and the charges are the same wherever in the world you order from. Postage charges are not included in the price of an item, instead they are added at time of checkout.
Our charges are as follows:
Ordnance Survey Sitemap planning maps - Post Free
Folded maps, folded laminated 'Tuff' maps and A5 A-Z Street Atlases - 75p per item
Guide books up to A4 size - £1.00 per item
Flat paper and flat encapsulated maps - £2.00 per item
Historical maps - £2.00 per item
A4 and A3 road atlases, including A-Z and Philips County Atlases - £2.50 per item
Harper Collins Postcode Atlas - £4.00 per item
Items sent to a U.K. address will usually be sent by Royal Mail 1st Class post and should take 1-2 working days to arrive from date of dispatch. For some larger orders, we may use a courier, in which case a signature will be required upon delivery. International orders will be sent by Royal Mail Airmail and should take between 3-5 working days to arrive from date of dispatch. If you would like your purchases sent to you any other way, please inform us when ordering.
Stock Availability
For various reasons, it is not possible to always guarantee that every item listed on the website is in stock. If you order a product that we usually keep stock of, but is out of stock at the time of order, we will contact you immediately to inform you of this, and give an estimated delivery date. If you require a title by a particular date for any reason, please let us know at the time of order. We are happy to suggest alternative titles which are either in stock or more easily available, and you will always be given the option to cancel your order if we are unable to obtain your title(s) in your desired time scale.
If any item is marked as "Special Order", we will have to order it from one of our range of world-wide wholesalers. Whilst we are usually given an estimated time of delivery by a supplier, we are unable to guarantee that your title will definitely appear by the expected arrival date. If at any time during the ordering process you would like to check on the progress of your order, please contact us.
Tax Charges
All paper maps and guides, including Ordnance Survey Siteplan paper maps have zero-rated VAT. Other products including Sitemap Data and other digital mapping products have VAT included at the current rate in their listed price.
Credit Card Security
When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. Credit/debit card payments for all orders except OS Sitemap and Historical map orders are processed at the Marble Street, Leicester branch. OS Sitemap orders are processed at our Huntingdon Street, Nottingham branch. All payments will appear as 'John E Wright & Co Ltd' on your statement. Because card details are processed offline, rather than through an online agent, we will not immediately know if there is a problem with your card details, such as any details being keyed in incorrectly at checkout. If there are any problems processing your order, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Please also note that if your order is sent from outside the UK, or you hold a card with a bank that uses a currency other than GBP, the final amount you pay may be different to the prices listed on this website, as your bank will decide upon the conversion rate from your currency into GBP.
