Major settlements are named in English and Arabic and roads are fully classified. A range of other features are shown on the map including railways, archaeological sites, international and internal administrative boundaries, international airports, airfields, and drainage features. Heights are shown by an attractive range of coloured layers, augmented by spot heights.

There is a full index to places as well as a full list of archaeological sites. The key to symbols is in five languages including English and Arabic. 

A detailed street plan of Central Baghdad is included. The plan shows all major streets and highways as well as public buildings, hotels, bus and railway stations, museums and places of interest. The street plan is at the scale of 1:60,000.

The map is single-sided and bound in an attractive card cover with a key map to the surrounding area on the reverse.

Waterproof and tear-resistant map, with a small plan of central Tripoli. Altitude colouring is used to convey the general relief, with different patterns representing sand, lava, dunes, hamada, etc. Hydrographic information shows numerous waterholes and wells. Communications network includes restricted private roads, as well as railways and ferry routes. Oil wells and pipelines are also marked. Tourist information includes beaches, oasis, parks and reserves, archaeological sites and other places of interest, plus selected hotels, campsites, rest houses, etc. The index of place names has a glossary of terms used in names of locations and geographical features.

The map also includes a small plan showing the main streets in central Tripoli, and a brief description of the country’s geography and history.
